FAA seeks industry support for UAS command and control services

The Federal Aviation Administration has posted a request for information for industry to provide command and non-payload communications (CNPC) services for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

According to an announcement on the US government’s federal business opportunities page (https://www.fbo.gov/index.php?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=c1e7ae3ea6e2c44910f90b448eb6beb8&tab=core&_cview=0)

“In accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.1.2.1 – this announcement is to provide Amendment 1, which allows for the FAA’s response to one potential Offerors question and for clarification. An offeror asks, “Is L5 GPS capability required in the GNSS?” The FAA response is “no.”
