Dufour Aerospace has outlined plans to develop an integrated aerial logistics network combining multiple aircraft types with a common operating layer.
The company said the approach is intended to extend drone delivery beyond short-range urban operations, using larger aircraft and heavier payloads for longer-distance, point-to-point transport.
Dufour said its initial focus is on applications in remote communities, islands and industrial sites, as well as defence logistics. Potential missions include transporting medical supplies, spare parts and other critical equipment. Its DufourOS operating layer is intended to connect the different aircraft and support the management of the wider network. It described the aircraft and software as components of a network rather than standalone products.
Dufour said it plans to develop the network first in remote environments before expanding into more populated areas.
