US Air Force seeks Dronebusters for Space Force base

The US Air Force has issued a sources sought notice for the Dronebuster handheld counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) device for use by the 50th Security Forces Squadron (50 SFS), which provides physical security, force protection measures and law enforcement services.

The specific model sought is the DZYNE Dronebuster DB4 w/PNT w/ LED arrays and kits. Two units will be used to protect Schriever Space Force Base, with potential to scale to additional devices.

The Air Force said this is a critical requirement driven by 50 SFS’s need to implement an agile, modernised C-sUAS programme to secure the installation’s airspace and protect critical assets against increasing unauthorised drone activity. “If the requirement is not fulfilled, 50 SFS will lack the necessary tools to rapidly address emerging drone threats, leaving Schriever Space Force Base vulnerable to unauthorised surveillance or disruption.”

Delivery will occur based on immediate base defence requirements, device availability and installation schedules. The sources sought notice was published on 13 July with responses due by 20 July.

The notice follows a US Air Force request for Dronebusters at Minot Air Force Base.
