The United States defence department has issued a ‘request for quotations’ notice, signalling its intention to procure the Dronebuster Block 4 man-portable counter-uncrewed aerial system, manufactured by DZYNE Technologies.
The notice states that the 5th Security Forces Squadron has an operational requirement to procure the system for base defence, security force mobility and dismounted operations at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. The system is required to detect, disrupt and defeat commercial-off-the-shelf drone threats through radiofrequency (RF) jamming and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) disruption.
“The DZYNE Dronebuster Block 4 is the standard-issue handheld C-UAS used across the military, and it is the only handheld electronic attack system officially authorised for use,” the notice states. “Procuring this specific system ensures seamless interoperability with existing base defence architectures and maintains standardisation across Air Force Security Forces.”
Authorised distributors are permitted to make offers.
