Halo Space “makes first successful test flight of its space tourism balloon”

Halo Space has made a first successful test flight of its space tourism capsule (https://www.unmannedairspace.info/latest-news-and-information/halo-space-tourist-company-to-make-first-flight-trial-balloon-flight-in-december-2022/) Balloon Facility of the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (TIFR) in India, reports the Economic Times of India.

“The test-flight of a space exploration capsule of a Spain-based space tourism firm was successfully conducted in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) balloon facility here,” reports the newspaper.  “The facility provided balloon-launching service for testing the space exploration capsule of ‘Halo Space’, scientists at the TIFR said on Thursday. They said it was an unmanned test-flight with only the capsule and some accessories.”

The capsule reached an altitude of 36.9 km and floated there for 20 minutes, say the reports.
