Thai government supports expansion of drone medical deliveries by Thailand Post

Thailand has started testing medical deliveries to people in remote areas under a new project called Delivers Wellness, according to a report by Bangkok Post.

Thailand Post is leading the project and expects more partners to join. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-chawitnessed the first delivery in the recently flooded Sing Buri province. Gen Prayut supports the national policy to increase the integration of digital technology in society.

Thailand Post has already been distributing medical equipment to hospitals across the country and delivering medical supplies from hospitals to patients. Dhanant Subhadrabandhu, president of Thailand Post, said the initiative is the country’s first medicine delivery service using drones to fly from hospitals to homes.

In terms of the drone service, people who want to use the service can contact hospitals where they receive treatment to check the rates for the delivery of medicine and medical supplies.

Hospitals which want to participate in the drone delivery project can contact Thailand Post to receive further information.
