skeyes signs new air traffic management contract with Belgium government

Air navigation services provider skeyes has signed a new management contract with Belgium.

The contract was signed at skeyes headquarters on May 21 by Georges Gilkinet, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility, skeyes CEO Johan Decuyper, and the company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Laurent Vrijdaghs.   

The Belgian government gave the green light for the fourth management contract between skeyes and the Belgian State on March 26. The contract makes resources available for investments in technological innovations to make the changing airspace more efficient and safer.

The objectives covered by the five-year arrangement include supporting the emerging uncrewed aviation sector. skeyes is a coordinator of the Belgium – Netherlands U-space Reference Design Implementation (BURDI) project. As a Common Information Service Provider, skeyes will ensure the data exchange between manned and unmanned aviation to create a secure airspace.
