The Dutch Drone Delta has performed an automatic drone inspection at Rotterdam The Hague Airport in collaboration with Dutch air navigation service provider LVNL, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Dura Vermeer, and AirHub. The drone was used to inspect the runway, with the focus being on the safe and efficient deployment of drones in airport areas where manned aviation is not affected. This second pilot phase follows a series of previous drone flights that the Dutch Drone Delta performed at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in 2020.
With this successful second test, a next step has been taken in the safe integration of unmanned and manned aviation.
The Dutch Drone Delta consists of various partners working together to support development of an ecosystem for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in the Netherlands.
