Pilots gain direct access to US low altitude authorization service with Drone Safety Map

Drone pilots using the US Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) service can now access the service using Altitude Angel’s Drone Safety Map. Altitude Angel was approved by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) as a LAANC service supplier in October 2018: LAANC is the FAA’s automated application platform which enables drone pilots to apply for airspace authorisation at over 600 US airports in near real-time. Altitude Angel expanded its service capability following its recent industry alliance with Pierce Aerospace. Operators can now gain LAANC approval without any need to visit a third-party platform, and can check their planned route and make adjustments before submitting a full authorisation request.
