Lithuania plans to introduce lower airspace management system in 2020

Lithuania’s air navigation service provider Oro Navigacija has announced plans to develop a lower airspace management system to support safe and efficient use of the airspace. The system is expected to be available in the first half of 2020. The service provider has also launched a 3D airspace model of Lithuanian airspace which enables drone operators to visualise their flight area and highlights any zones which are restricted, prohibited or dangerous. The model includes restrictions imposed by Lithuania’s Ministry of Defence. The model can be accessed by PC, phone or tablet using Google Earth.
