ASD-STAN signs Memorandum of Understanding with ASTM International to align standards

European aerospace standards body ASD-STAN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US standards agency ASTM International which supports a closer working relationship between ASTM and ASD-STAN on Direct Remote Identification (also known as Remote ID) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

The MoU was signed by Jeff Grove, STM International vice president of global policy and communications, and Pari Aliyeva, ASD-STAN director.

The memorandum is the result of work completed by the ASTM F38 committee, ASD-STAN D05/WG08 Working Group and its convener Christophe Mazel, with support from Jeff Grove and Sara Gobbi, director of European Affairs, aimed at promoting technical alignment in standards that support regulations.

According to a LinkedIn post, ASD-STAN is looking forward to discussing future avenues of cooperation in the aerospace sector with ASTM International.
