Israel CAA rules out drone flights without active connection to a UTM system

In light of the heightened security situation in Israel, Civil Aviation Authority Israel (CAAI) has released a new ruling: No drone may be flown anywhere in the country without an active connection to a UTM system, according to industry reports.

Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) provider High Lander reports dozens of towns throughout Israel have already connected to the company’s Vega UTM system and are using it on a daily basis as they use drones to strengthen their security systems.

High Lander has been granted official approval to provide UTM services nationwide.
