US Homeland Security department seeks authority to bring down rogue drones

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has requested Congress grant the department new power so it can bring down drones that threaten airports or interfere with border security. According to a report in the Washington Times, DHS Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, “we need to be able to bring them down and have the money, the appropriations, to purchase the equipment to allow us to do that”.
