Russia has passed a law allowing its central bank and other financial institutions to operate their own defence systems and train staff to repel drone attacks, Reuters reports.
According to the article, Russia’s biggest bank, Sberbank, and other financial institutions are now authorised to operate defence systems and arm staff against drones without special forces involvement. The costs would be borne by the banks themselves as equipment would not be state-funded.
The legislation comes as Ukraine steps up its long range campaign to target Russian infrastructure.
