The new service says the source of the report is the Undersecretary for Defence Industries Ismail Demir.
The company’s website (http://www.aselsan.com.tr/en-us/press-room/Brochures/Electro-Optic-Systems/LSS_ENG.pdf) says “the priority usage (for the LSS) is for ship platforms, power plants, airbases, border patrol stations, headquarters and convoy routes.” Technical specifications include an output power of more than I kW and a wavelength of 1 µm.
“In the successful tests, the system’s high power laser source, very low cost of shots, high-capacity magazine, continuous shooting, optical target detection and advanced target tracking system were highlighted,” said the news report.
