ASELSAN “successfully tests C-UAS laser weapon”

According to the Daily Sabah news service ( a laser defence system (LSS), developed by Turkish defence company ASELSAN to eliminate threats posed by unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles at a range of 500 meters has been successfully tested.

The new service says the source of the report is the Undersecretary for Defence Industries Ismail Demir.

The company’s website ( says “the priority usage (for the LSS) is for ship platforms, power plants, airbases, border patrol stations, headquarters and convoy routes.” Technical specifications include an output power of more than I kW and a wavelength of 1 µm.

“In the successful tests, the system’s high power laser source, very low cost of shots, high-capacity magazine, continuous shooting, optical target detection and advanced target tracking system were highlighted,” said the news report.
