Poland invites participants in pilot project to develop regional drone ecosystems

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) seeks partners from within Poland and overseas to participate in a pilot project for the implementation of the “Advanced UAS flights on a large scale” service. Until the end of November, municipalities, associations and consortia of municipalities can apply to the programme. Thanks to the pilot, local governments will have a real impact on shaping the flow of drone traffic in their areas.

PANSA is due to select three partners areas which will support drone flights. The areas will be equipped with devices to collect information about the location of unmanned aerial vehicles and obtain various types of data.

Closing date: 30 November 2021

The recruitment is part of a project implemented under the Digital Poland Operational Programme, in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Infrastructure

The project forms part of Poland’s wide drone programme which has grown steadily in recent years. The number of professional drone pilots with appropriate permissions now exceeds 25,000. To ensure stable, sustainable and safe development of the UAV market and their applications across Poland, the government is funding infrastructure development.

The aim of the Digital Poland Programme is to support efficient and orderly flow of drone traffic and will ensure constant monitoring of the situation in the airspace.
