The board of the Global UTM Association (GUTMA) has selected Eszter Kovacs, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Manageld Ltd, as the new Acting Secretary General.
Eszter used to manage the association marketing, communications and PR activities and is deeply familiar with GUTMA and its members. She has over ten years in several management positions in multinational technology companies – focusing on digitalization and telecommunications, technical innovation and the drone sector – and four years’ experience with associations as part of the global mobile network operator association GSMA, where she managed the Drone Interest Group Activities with more than 50 telecommunications companies. Eszter was the event manager of the highly successful recent series of connected skies webinars organized by GUTMA. She brings a focus on maturing organizational processes for improved success, managing day-to-day operations and continuing the evolution of GUTMA while the new board evaluates the next steps for appointing a permanent Secretary General.
“The next few years will be critical in the development of the drone and UTM sectors as operators plan to scale up their activities and regulators develop the foundations for a safe, competitive and efficient UAS industry,” says Eszter Kovacs. “My role will be to execute the decisions of the board by building on the success of the past years and reaching out to the industry through new digital initiatives. I believe that by increasing engagement and knowledge sharing between members, we can leverage existing collaborations and provide value to our members. I will do my best to support the board of directors with process of selecting and onboarding the new GUTMA Secretary General.”
As one of a new generation of successful women in the technology, Eszter represents a new era of diversity and inclusiveness for GUTMA, which is changing the way digital technologies are being developed and implemented globally.
Eszter holds a degree in Military and Safety Engineering from the Hungarian National University of Public Services and has post graduate study experience with Boston University’s digital leadership programme. She holds an AGILE coaching and PRINCE2 certificates.
