ERICA consortium member Indra reports successful integration of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) in controlled airspace following validation of SESAR solution 117, during the research project PJ13ERICA. The aim of the validation was to achieve safe and efficient conflict detection and resolution when an RPAS is involved. By adapting the air traffic management Ground Based Safety Nets system, Indra provided tools for controllers to detect and solve conflicts operating in different scenarios.
