Registration opens for 12th SESAR Innovation Days, 5-8 December 2022, hosted by HungaroControl

The SESAR 3 JU has announced that the SESAR Innovation Days 2022 will be hosted by HungaroControl at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. Organised annually since 2011, the SIDS have become a landmark event in the European aviation research calendar.

The SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) are the main vehicle for SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking to share progress and disseminate exploratory research results. Unlike other scientific events in air traffic management (ATM) research, the SIDs focus explicitly on exploratory research.

With the 2022 event coinciding with the closure of several SESAR 2020 research projects, the 2022 event promises to be a valuable event, showcasing the latest research and innovation results and reflecting Europe’s commitment to the long-term sustainability of the aviation industry, as well as its recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.

The SIDs are based on an open call soliciting contributions from the ATM research community. An exhibition and several networking events will provide further opportunities to learn about interesting projects and meet like-minded researchers.

Once again, this year’s SIDs will host the annual Young Scientist Award, recognising young scientists, who have demonstrated excellence in ATM and aviation-related research fields.

The event will kick off on the afternoon of 5 December with an opening ceremony, kindly hosted at the HungaroControl headquarters, offering you a chance to network with your peers and visit some of HungaroControl’s state-of-the-art R&D facilities. Please note that participation to the opening ceremony is extremely limited.
