European bodies agree U-Space regulatory package – will become law in 2023

According to numerous social media posts, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Commission and Eurocontrol, along with EASA member states have agreed on the regulatory package that will provide the legal basis for a harmonised implementation of U-Space procedures throughout the European Union.

According to a Linkedin post from Diego Fernández Varela, UAS expert with the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA): “This is one of the key milestones that certainly paves the way towards the future integration of unmannedaircraft into the SingleEuropeanSky and, of course, the future of aviation.

The regulation will become law in January 2023.
