EU-China APP workshop to feature INVIRCAT presentation on RPAS TMA operations, 14-16 June

The SESAR research project INVIRCAT will present on RPAS operations in the terminal maneovring area (TMA) at the workshop taking place from 14-16 June dedicated to Flight procedures concepts integration in terminal airspace organised by the EU-China Partnership Project (EU-China APP).

EU-China APP is a cooperation between the EU and China to strengthen their economic partnership in the civil aviation domain.

As the need for optimal efficiency in terminal airspace rises, the EU-China APP organised this workshop on flight procedures concepts to discuss potential to improve efficiency of terminal airspace traffic flows. The workshop will cover the following topics:

  1. TMA Arrival techniques (including Point Merge System (PMS), among others);
  2. TMA Navigation techniques (including Performance Based Navigation (PBN), among others);
  3. TMA operations (including Diverse Vector Area (DVA) Design for Departure below MVA, IFR Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), among others).

​​Representatives of the European aviation community are welcome to attend online through Zoom.

Gunnar Schwoch (DLR), coordinator of the INVIRCAT project, will present INVIRCAT in a session titled “Investigate IFR RPAS control in airports and TMA” taking place on day 15 June) at 10:35-11:20 CEST.
