Cranfield University seeks to appoint professor in UAS traffic management

Cranfield University in the UK School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing is seeking to appoint a Professor in UAS traffic management, based at the Bedfordshire campus. The position will take up a leadership role in the School by bringing together research in Unmanned Air Traffic Management and Advanced Air Mobility operations. UAS Traffic Management is about developing airspace management solutions that will bring higher levels of system resilience, safety and security while adapting to competition from Advance Air Mobility to operate in the same airspace is one of the key research areas of the Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC).

Applicants require a PhD in a relevant discipline and have an internationally recognised track record in the field of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management. This will be evidenced by high quality publications, and competitive research funding or senior level industry experience. They will have demonstrated experience in being able to negotiate, plan, develop and successfully implement strategic large-scale projects and win national and international research funding.
