EASA experts discuss regulatory framework and harmonised certification at U-space workshop

The first day of the European Aviation Safety Agency workshop “U-space – from concept to implementation” took place today in Cologne, Germany. The two-day technical workshop is going into all the necessary details of putting the U-space concept into reality and will be followed up by a series of webinars. Led by EASA’s Maria Algar Ruiz and Stephane Vauburg, the hybrid workshop is taking a deep dive into the U-space concept, the regulatory framework and the guidance material relating to (EU)2021/664/665/666, especially the recently published AMC and GM to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/664 — Issue 1 . The USSP/S-CISP certification process and the outcome of the Member States Task force on the USSP/S-CISP certification harmonisation, was also presented.

Alliance for New Mobility Europe shared a detailed analysis of the U-space AMC/GMs ahead of the workshop and attended with several of its members including Unifly, Droniq, ENAIRE, D-Flight, and ITG.

Day two will examine U-space services and evolutions of the AMC/GM to the U-space regulatory framework, along with single CISP and USSP certification.
