US proposes counter-drone coordinator appointment

The House of Representatives has put forward a bill to set up a new position within the Department of Homeland Security described as “Countering Unmanned Aircraft Systems Coordinator.” The proposal came from the House Homeland Security Committee which met on 23 October 2019. The official would be tasked with countering threats associated with drones, promoting anti-drone tech research and coordinating with the private sector according to US government news coverage.
