Quantum Systems expands to maritime domain

Quantum Systems is connecting its existing autonomous operations in the air and on land with the maritime domain. It has introduced Seavex and Subvex, its first two maritime systems designed for surveillance, critical infrastructure protection and counter-uncrewed aerial system operations.

The product launch took place on the sidelines of a NATO exercise in Portugal, where both systems will be tested and validated as part of sea trials. 

Seavex and Subvex are integrated into the company’s MOSAIC UXS software, enabling their deployment alongside uncrewed air and ground systems through a common architecture. “The result is an interoperable system across air, land and sea that can be expanded with additional platforms, sensors and third-party technologies,” Quantum Systems said in a press release.

Seavex is a long-endurance uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) that includes surveillance radar, counter-drone radar and electro-optical sensors with onboard AI processing. Seavex launches and recovers UAVs while docking, recharging and retrieving mission data from uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUV).  Subvex is an AI-enabled UUV, equipped with sonar and acoustic sensors, designed for autonomous missions at depths of up to 6,000 metres. Their integration into MOSAIC UXS enables sensor information from different systems and domains to be combined within a single operational environment.
