KONGSBERG is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Poland to produce and sustain counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) for the country’s SAN programme, expanding its production capacity for drone defence.
The factory will be located in the Pomeranian region, near the Trójmiasto area, although the exact site has not yet been disclosed. KONGSBERG plans to invest more than PLN200 million (approximately EUR45 million) in the facility, which is expected to create more than 100 long-term jobs once operating at full capacity.
The company is preparing to enter into a construction contract by the end of 2026, with work expected to begin immediately afterwards. Serial production could start in the first half of 2028.
The facility will form part of KONGSBERG’s global manufacturing network, supporting Poland and potential future customers elsewhere in Europe. The company said the investment would strengthen Polish industrial and defence capabilities while expanding its presence in the country.
In January 2026, KONGSBERG and consortium partner Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) signed a contract with the Polish Armaments Agency to deliver C-UAS solutions to protect the country against drone threats.
