Indra has unveiled its DRIZZLE interceptor and ARACNE counter-drone system at the 2E+I Army 35 Forum in Toledo, alongside other systems being developed for the Spanish Armed Forces.
DRIZZLE is an 80cm effector designed to engage drones, light vehicles and antennas at speeds of up to 400km/h. Indra said it has a range of 80km, extendable to 130km when deployed from a carrier drone.
The system can be integrated as a hard-kill effector within a counter-drone system, launched independently from the ground or carried by a drone or helicopter. The carrier drone is an expendable system that can also be used as a strike platform.
Indra is also developing the ARACNE counter-drone system with EM&E as part of the Spanish Armed Forces’ Special Modernisation Programmes. The forum is also showcasing the SANTAM programme, which includes the supply of 147 Tarsis tactical drones in fixed-wing and VTOL configurations.
The company said the systems are being developed to operate as part of an integrated, multidomain architecture. Indra also said the programmes incorporate lessons from recent conflicts and are intended to accelerate the development and delivery of capabilities to the armed forces.
