My Defence, General Dynamics Land System integrate C-UAS in light armoured vehicles

MyDefence Communication has announced the successful integration of Counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) technology in vehicle platforms for military forces. The integration of the drone sensors allows military operators to effectively detect and defeat enemy drones used for reconnaissance or as weapon delivery systems, says the company. MyDefence has developed advanced, networked radio-frequency (RF) sensors, and has worked closely with General Dynamics Land Systems to integrate these drone sensors into a wheeled armoured vehicle platform, providing on-the-move detect and defeat capability of drones for military operators.

The platform can detect drones using RF technology and defeat threats using smart jamming. “The solution can effortlessly be integrated with third-party battle-management systems (BMS), and using a standard tactical link, the mobile platform can communicate and provide feedback to any remote command and control (C2) system, providing greater situational awareness and enhanced battlefield effectiveness,” says a company press release.

MyDefence first began integration testing with the General Dynamics Land Systems platform in 2017. The platform has since evolved and the Counter UAS solution can now be fully integrated into any vehicle platform, providing the flexibility and scalability needed for military operators. MyDefence and General Dynamics Land Systems will be conducting a large-scale demonstration of this integrated technology at the NATO Non-lethal Technology Exercise 2018 (NNTEX-18), an exercise that focuses on capabilities with high technological readiness levels of non-lethal solutions.
