The Indian Army has issued a request for information (RFI) for mesh screens to be used as a last line of defence against hostile drones.
According to the RFI, the screens will be deployed along India’s Western Front, where reports of hostile drones continue to increase. Each multi-layered mesh structure is required to measure approximately 37 metres in length and 20 metres in width. They should be difficult to detect and include camouflage.
The screens should comprise three layers, each designed to further slow the drone and ultimately stop it before it reaches its target. They would add to a layered counter-drone defence that includes radar, electronic warfare, jamming, laser and anti-aircraft weapons capabilities.
