The SESAR ARTEMISA project to develop new air traffic services platforms has officially begun with its kickoff meeting, held at the SESAR Joint Undertaking headquarters in Brussels. The project will run for 36 months and aims to facilitate the seamless integration of different platforms and technologies by using a modular and flexible architecture.
The meeting brought together representatives of the industrial partner and project coordinator, Indra, along with the eight air navigation service providers participating in the iTEC collaboration.
With a total budget of EUR 39.28 million and 70% funding from SESAR, the project will work to enable systems to autonomously make and execute decisions in routine situations under defined operating conditions. It aims to drive the development of advanced operational capabilities for both en-route and terminal operations, enabling greater levels of digitalisation, automation, and interoperability across the European air traffic management network.
The meeting held in Brussels provided all partners with the opportunity to align priorities, governance structures, and technical work plans for the next three years.
