Orbion Technologies has become an innovation partner of DronePort Rotterdam. The partnership will help build the conditions for safe and scalable autonomous operations.
The ability to detect, track and avoid other airspace users is essential, especially for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations in complex environments such as ports, cities, industrial zones and critical infrastructure.
Orbion Technologies, based in Eindhoven, develops compact radar technology for civil and defence aviation markets. The company’s Silencio product line is designed to strengthen detect-and-avoid capabilities and contribute to safer and more reliable autonomous aviation.
“Detect-and-avoid technologies demonstrate their real value when they are tested and integrated in complex operational environments,” DronePort Rotterdam said on 14 July. “Rotterdam provides exactly that environment. By combining Orbion’s expertise in radar and detect-and-avoid with DronePort Rotterdam’s collaborative ecosystem, we can jointly explore how these technologies can be validated, refined and translated into real operational applications. This partnership is not only about sharing knowledge, but about creating the conditions in which innovation can safely progress towards implementation.”
