NorthStrive Defense Tech LLC has secured a licence option in connection with a proprietary, U.S. patented autonomous navigation technology through an exclusive option agreement with an undisclosed corporation. The technology is designed to enable autonomous positioning and navigation for uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) operating in GPS-jammed, GPS-spoofed and GPS-denied environments.
The system could enable drones to navigate accurately without GPS by using onboard cameras and inertial sensors to estimate position relative to the local environment. It uses visual-inertial odometry and sensor-fusion techniques, including an Extended Kalman Filter for real-time state estimation and cooperative multi-vehicle data sharing.
The company’s announcement follows its acquisition of rights to a novel drone technology, earlier this month. This drone system is designed to operate across multiple environments by enabling an aerial vehicle to transport a cable-suspended payload through water while maintaining flight above the surface.
NorthStrive Defense Tech was launched by PMGC Holdings Inc. on April 2.
