Flyby Guys has extended its Drone Assistant regulatory intelligence platform to seven more countries. Designed to help drone operators identify the rules applicable to specific operations and jurisdictions, the platform now includes Greece, South Africa, Malaysia, Brazil, Czechia, Taiwan and Chile. These add to the US, Australia, UK, New Zealand and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) member states announced at the platform’s launch.
Drone Assistant uses aviation regulations and guidance from national authorities and other official sources to provide answers to regulatory questions, with references to the underlying source material, according to the company.
“All seven [of the new regions] are marked Ready with limitations,” the company explained. “That means we have reviewed a useful set of official sources for each one, not the whole of each country’s drone law. Each country’s coverage page sets out exactly what is in scope, and that page is the one to trust when you need detail. Our answers are information, not permission to fly. We do not give flight clearance, and in these seven markets we do not check your exact location against zones, airspace or temporary restrictions. Before each flight, check the official sources listed on the coverage page.”
The latest update includes, but is not limited to, EU drone rules for Greece and Czechia, commercial approvals information for South Africa, Malaysia’s limits on camera drones, Brazil’s new binding law, the intricacies of exemptions in Taiwan and Chile’s rules for flights in populated areas.
Flyby Guys will continue to add detail to these markets.
