The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas (CAA-B) has joined the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned System (JARUS).
“As we work together to advance the safe integration of UAS around the world, CAA-B brings important experience and insights from the Caribbean region, further enhancing the diversity and expertise of our international network,” JARUS said.
In the Bahamas, all drones must be registered and those over a certain weight also require a UAS certificate. Commercial drone use rrequires mandatory prior written approval, registration and specific operational permits from CAA-B.
JARUS currently has 72 member organisations, 70 national aviation authorities as well as EASA and EUROCONTROL.
