Commercial drone operator SwissDrone Operating AG has completed the first beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) powerline inspection in Belgium covering a flight distance of more than 100 km in a single flight. SwissDrone’s SDO 50 V2 VTOL unmanned helicopter undertook a single flight over a two-hour period.
The SDO 50 V2 VTOL is designed to operate long-range BVLOS with capability to fly continuously for over three hours. A payload capacity of 45 kg (including fuel) is designed to provide a flexible operating range and ability to operate in difficult weather conditions.
