CIRC demonstrates drone flights using 5G network in Taiwan

Taiwanese technology company CIRC Coretronic Intelligent Robotics Corp (CIRC), a subsidiary of Coretronic Group, reports successful operational demonstrations over 5G using its autonomous drones in Taiwan. Taiwan’s largest mobile operator Chunghwa Telecom(CHT) officially launched its 5G services including 4K and VR on 30 June, 2020.

According to a CIRC press release, the company collaborated with CHT to apply CIRC’s solutions to Chunghwa Telecom’s commercial 5G network. Two parties worked together to demonstrate remote drone inspection and real-time transmission of 4K. Live broadcast of ultra-high-definition video shows the application value of 5G air terminal.

CIRC is the autonomous drones solution providing a range of communications schemes to its global customers. This milestone prepares CIRC to provide its customers with operational advantages including better real-time video stream quality, reduced battery consumption, which means longer mission times and greater distances and readiness for greater data processing in real-time. The aim is to provide operational efficiency and service quality, including security surveillance, infrastructure inspection, disaster prevention and environmental change monitoring, delivery logistics.

CIRC cooperated with CHT to connect 5G networks, robots, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies to create a future industry.
