US government expands Liteye contract for counter UAS equipment

The US government has issued “an specialty production order for USD3 million” to Liteye Systems for the supply of Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) equipment to meet urgent requirements to deal with COVID-19. The equipment is part of the US Defense Industrial Base (DIB) which is identified as a critical infrastructure sector by the Department of Homeland Security.

CEO of Liteye Systems Kenneth Geyer said the company is operating at full capability and has not been impacted by COVID-19. “This contract, and the recent deliveries of Liteye’s US configured AUDS system continues a three-year run of consistent performance, delivering life-saving technology to our warfighters.” Liteye reports over USD70 million in previous counter drone contracts with the US Government.
