US Army confirms selection of DRS for mobile counter drone system with USD190m contract award

The US Army has confirmed its selection of DRS Sustainment Systems for development, production, deployment and support of the Mobile Low, Slow, Small Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems Integrated Defeat System (M-LIDS). DRS was down-selected in March 2019 and awarded a contract worth up to USD190 million on 20 July 2020 under a Single Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with five, one-year ordering periods. The M-LIDS requirement is for a C-UAS capability to detect, track, classify, evaluate and defeat Group 1, Group 2, and low-end Group 3 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Sustainment Systems is a division of Leonardo DRS.
