US Army awards Lockheed Martin Aculight USD220 million for C-UAS laser weapon

Lockheed Martin Aculight Corp., Bothell, Washington, has been awarded an Other Transaction Authority agreement with a ceiling of USD220,842,090 from the US Army to develop, integrate, manufacture, test, and deliver Indirect Fire Protection Capability-High Energy Laser (HEL) prototype weapon systems.

Work will be performed in Bothell, Washington; Moorestown, New Jersey; Owego, New York; Oldsmar, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Sunnyvale, California; and Huntsville, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of October 18, 2025.

The company has been working on a number of HEL projects including a 300 kilowatt laser under the Pentagon’s High Energy Laser Scaling Initiative (HELSI).
