US Air Force USD1.25 million contract to WhiteFox Defense for handheld C-UAS systems

WhiteFox Defense Technologies has won a USD1.25 million contract from the US Air Force to address one of the services most pressing challenges, by using the Scorpion 3 lightweight portable drone detection and mitigation system.

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and AFWERX, an innovation directorate within the laboratory, have partnered to accelerate current ‘proposal to award’ timelines, therebt encouraging small, innovative businesses that cannot necessarily always wait for lengthy procurement processes and therefore often move on to non-defence opportunities.

Scorpion offers efficient and reliable situational awareness, in any dynamic environment. The intuitive user interface allows the operator to integrate authorised drones into secured airspace, detect unauthorised drones and defend critical assets. Simple to use, cost-effective, and feature-rich, Scorpion-3 is a man-portable RF-based detection, early warning, tracking, and identification solution.
