SRC, Inc. has announced the first deployment of its Gryphon R1410 radar system in Japan, in partnership with Nippon Kaiyo Co., Ltd. The radar recently passed certification by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, which SRC says makes it the first counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) radar of its kind to receive official approval in the country.
The Gryphon R1410 is a 3D active electronically scanned array radar designed for air surveillance and multi-mission capabilities, with a focus on detecting small, low-altitude targets within a 10-kilometre range. The system is capable of operating in harsh weather conditions and supporting both static and mobile applications. It includes intuitive interface software that aims to simplify configuration.
