Lithuanian daily Delfi reports that SDA, a cross-border association of Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Latvian defence technology companies, has introduced the X-12 jet interceptor drone as part of a multi-layered air defence system being developed by the group.
The X-12 is a turbojet-powered uncrewed aircraft designed to intercept and shoot down aerial targets, including the Geran-5 and Shahed drones. Delfi reports that it has already been tested in combat conditions in Ukraine, where the system is likely to be deployed fully according to SDA representative Ričardas Savickas. Savickas told Delfi that the X-12 has a maximum speed of 700 km/h, a cruise speed of about 350 km/h, a range of up to 126 km and a ceiling of 10 km.
According to the article, SDA specifically developed the X-12 to cost less than a Shahed jet drone.
