Offshore energy industry to gauge response to drones and other threats

The UK offshore energy industry will hold an exercise in Scotland this week to test its response to drones and other threats.

Exercise Granite Resolve will test how the energy industry, police and other agencies deal with a complex emergency situation. According to media reports, approximately 70 personnel from the offshore energy industry will take part in the desktop exercise, as well as officials from Police Scotland, the Department for Energy Security and other agencies.

The London Standard reports that the scenario will involve both physical and cybersecurity threats, where signals initially come from other jurisdictions in the North Sea such as Norway and Denmark.
