At last week’s ILA Berlin event Mercedes-Benz and the Munich-based technology company TYTAN Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on future cooperation.
At the show the companies offered a first look at a joint vehicle-based system network with a prototype. It illustrated possible approaches to integrating technology-supported applications into mobile platforms and exemplifies the shared development directions of the cooperation. “Among other things, the Memorandum covers the exploration of possible further development as well as industrial scaling, taking into account the relevant regulatory framework – in particular export-control, defence and security-law requirements,” said TYTAN.
“The current geopolitical challenges make it clear that we must rethink resilience and security,” said Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, at the event. “This makes it all the more important to deliberately pool the strengths of our industry. The planned cooperation between TYTAN Technologies and Mercedes-Benz excites me in particular: here, the innovative power of a visionary start-up meets the decades of experience and excellence of a company steeped in industrial tradition. This combination impressively demonstrates the potential that emerges when bold technological ideas and industrial strength come together. Together, both companies make an important contribution to protecting our critical infrastructure even better and to sustainably strengthening Germany’s technological sovereignty.”
