India’s directed energy weapon system defeats drone swarms in demonstration

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted a successful field demonstration of the land version of a MK-II vehicle-mounted laser directed energy weapon (DEW) at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh on April 13.

The system defeated fixed wing UAS and swarm drones successfully causing structural damage and disabling the surveillance sensors.

DRDO has shared video from the demonstration on its social channels.
