IAI unveils POINT@AIR aerostat-based radar at AUSA 2026

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled POINT@AIR, a mobile aerostat-based radar designed to provide persistent surveillance and long-range detection, at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, DC.

The system combines Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar technology with an elevated aerostat platform to extend detection range beyond terrain and other ground-level obstructions. It is designed to detect and track multiple aerial, maritime and ground targets.

Based on IAI’s ELM-2083 radar family, POINT@AIR combines electronic scanning in azimuth and elevation with mechanical rotation to provide 360-degree coverage. The mobile system is designed for persistent operation and rapid relocation without relying on permanent infrastructure.

IAI said the radar can support multiple missions simultaneously, prioritise targets according to operational requirements and interface with command-and-control systems to contribute to a shared operational picture.
