Eurosatory 2026 – OpenWorks announces HGH partnership and downselect for Australian C-UAS programme

OpenWorks Engineering and HGH Infrared Systems have signed a counter-UAS partnership agreement.

“The collaboration brings together OpenWorks’ Vision Flex intelligent optical system, providing autonomous, high-resolution visual identification through advanced zoom capabilities with HGH’s SPYNEL-X panoramic IR surveillance camera, delivering long-range passive detection of low-altitude aerial threats,” said OpenWorks in a press release. “Together, the fully passive sensor systems offer a powerful, integrated approach to Counter-UAS operations.”

OpenWorks has also announced its Vision Guard C-UAS system has been selected for evaluation within the Australian Defence Force’s AUD1.3 billion programme to act as an early warning system, or ‘trip wire’, for dismounted close combatants.

“Vision Guard provides rapidly deployable panoramic staring capability for forward observation and covert surveillance, including in low light,” said the company. “It integrates OpenWorks’ proprietary artificial intelligence and data fusion software to detect, track and identify class 1 UAS at long range. Systems can be configured with combinations of active and/or passive wide area sensors, including radar and acoustic panels, to suit mission requirements.”
