DroneShield has completed installation and acceptance of its DroneSentry-X Mk2 counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) on US military Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISVs) under its Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) contract.
The company said the work was completed approximately 80 days after the contract was awarded and included delivery, vehicle installation, acceptance testing and operator training. Three additional DroneSentry-X Mk2 units are planned under a recent contract modification.
The completed installations establish initial operational capability (IOC) for the deployed system, according to DroneShield.
The vehicle-mounted DroneSentry-X Mk2 provides detection and electronic countermeasure capabilities against uncrewed aircraft. Its integration with the ISV allows the C-UAS capability to be used while forces are mobile or stationary, rather than being limited to fixed sites.
DroneShield said its personnel conducted the installations and supported acceptance testing using live uncrewed aircraft. Operators also received training as part of the delivery.
The JIATF-401 programme is part of the US government’s wider effort to deploy counter-UAS capabilities for homeland defence and other operational requirements. DroneShield said its technology is also available through the JIATF-401 C-UAS Marketplace for authorised US government customers.
