CACI International Inc. announced yesterday (30 July) that as the first task order of a three-year USD 500 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, the SkyValor drone defence system will be deployed to strategic locations as part of a larger national security effort led by Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) to defend U.S. interests at home and overseas.
The company is moving SkyValor into full-rate production. The system recently completed a series of operational evaluations conducted by JIATF-401 at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. The evaluations assessed SkyValor’s ability to detect and defeat a wide range of small UAS threats beyond the line of sight.
This latest award follows a separate contract award through JIATF-401’s Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) to deliver four SkyValor units to JIATF-401. Under the original CSO contract, CACI will deliver a SkyValor variant integrated onto a heavy-duty truck, giving customers a mobile drone defence capability.
