Ukraine’s Carmine Sky is providing a private air defence service based on the concept of towers protecting infrastructure with M2 Browning machine guns, controlled with gaming controllers, according to multiple media reports.
Images are transmitted by a camera with machine vision capabilities, according to the Ukrainian version of Deutsche Welle.
According to Carmine Sky, the effectiveness of the Sky Sentinel systems currently stands at 85%. “Our primary targets are Shahed drones, so that’s what we shoot down. Yesterday we shot down a jet-powered Shahed drone — anything that enters the turret’s range won’t fly any further,” said the company’s communications specialist.
